	Potential Applications Advanced Aerospace. Sprayable microspheres are being considered as a replacement insulation for the space shuttle external fuel tank assembly because they have elastic properties that easily accommodate the expansion/ contraction cycling experienced during fueling (extreme cold/shrinking) and launch (high air friction and heat/expansion) without the high risk of delamination and subsequent damage to shuttle components (e.g., tiles). Aviation, marine, and automobile. Typically, clamshells or custom-formed insulation units are installed around specific pipe diameters or flange configurations. Because traditional foams are rigid, they are not readily customized. In contrast, GFT’s patent pending flexible foam from hollow microspheres is a perfect solution in cryogenic or high temperature applications where the foam must accommodate flexural stress during operation or where the economies of simple, safe installation of a flexible wrap insulation would be highly desirable.

PerForma-H® Polyimide Thermal Insulation – Currently available in densities from <2.0 pcf to >12.0 pcf and suitable for extremely high traffic insulation applications. Avialable R-values of >60/in. Thermally stable at temperatures from -423°F to over +600°F. Closed cell properties. Chemical and water resistant. Extremely easy to install and service without special safety equipment. Machineable. moldable, and available in any custom shape.

PerForma-H® Foam Filled Honeycombs and Panels – Your honeycomb foam filled with PerForma-H® Polyimide Thermal Insulation. Suitable for single solution thermal protection systems, noise abatement for aerospace, industrial applications, ballistic protection, and structural components where fire and/or ballistic protection are priorities. Available in molded or bonded formats. Closed cell or open cell properties to the customer’s specifications. Chemical and water resistant.

Flexible PerForma-H® Polyimide Thermal and Acoustic Insulation – Ideal for high temperature or cryogenic piping and equipment applications demanding lightweight (<1.2 pcf typ.), extreme temperature capabilities from -423°F to+600°F, and ease of installation and repair. Also ideal for thermal and acoustic insulation applications demanding extreme temperature, durability, ease of use, and non-hazardous characteristics. Machineable and moldable. Chemical and water resistant.

Flexible PerForma-H® Foam Filled Honeycombs and Panels – Your honeycomb filled with Flexible PerForma-H® Polyimide Thermal and Acoustic Insulation. Suitable for single solution thermal protection systems, noise abatement for aerospace and industrial applications, ballistic protection, and structural components where fire and/or ballistic protection are priorities and an outstanding flexible (drape) characteristic is highly desirable. Available in molded or bonded formats. Machineable and moldable. Chemical and water resistant.

Fully Cured PerForma-H® Hollow Polyimide Microspheres – Outstanding as a pourable, blowable, or sprayed thermal or acoustic insulation material for structural fire protection, cryogenic tank insulation, and/or sound attenuation. Thermally stable from -423°F to +600°F. Chemical and water resistant. Available in microsphere diameters from <300 microns to >1250 microns.

Fully Cured PerForma-L® Hollow Polyimide Microspheres – Outstanding as a pourable, blowable, or sprayed thermal or acoustic insulation material for structural fire protection, cryogenic tank insulation, and/or sound attenuation. Thermally stable from -423°F to >+585°F. Chemical and water resistant. Available in microsphere diameters from <300 microns to >1000 microns.
